Touting improvements to services, equipment and stations, Amtrak unveiled the “All Aboard Amtrak” marketing campaign in 1983. It stressed the comfort, reliability and convenience of rail travel. In conjunction with this marketing effort, the company also introduced the “All Aboard America Fare,” a promotional program offering discretionary travelers discounted prices on long-distance travel.
