This original artwork, created for Amtrak Marketing by the advertising firm of Great Incorporated, was probably commissioned for use in a tour brochure. It depicts typical scenes from the South including a jazz musician; old fashioned paddle boat; and a townhouse like those found in New Orleans' French Quarter. The locomotive wears the Phase II livery introduced in 1975. Two versions of this drawing exist. The original version features a "southern belle" instead of the house. Artist: Unknown. From the Ann Owens Collection.
