Engine #508 was one of the P32-8BWH locomotives purchased from General Electric in 1991.
The San Joaquin has operated between Sacramento, Bakersfield, and Oakland, Calif. since 1974. Primarily financed through funds made available by the California Department of Transportation, the train runs 12 times daily.
