Golden State Aventour brochure, 1973.

Full color paper brochure illustrated with photographs and drawings. This tour package included Amtrak fares. The fifteen-day tour began and ended in Chicago, running from May 5 to October 17, 1973. The westward leg rode the Super Chief and the return eastward leg ran on the San Francisco Zephyr. The California leg was run by motorcoach from Los Angeles north to San Francisco, and then out to Lake Tahoe. From the Ann Owens Collection.

Family days have been a company tradition honoring the employees. In 1981, the company showcased its new Amfleet, Superliner, Turboliner, Metroliner and SPV-2000 equipment as well as the refurbished Heritage fleet. This brochure provides a convenient overview of all of this rolling stock.

Press release on Accord to Take Over Engineers and Train Conductors, 1986.

Press release from February 6, 1986, announcing that Amtrak would take over employment of its train conductors and engineers from the contract railroads on service outside the Northeast Corridor. This news brought with it momentous implications for improving service all over the system. Amtrak had taken over Northeast Corridor operating crews on January 1, 1983.

Amtrak's Metroliner Service Executive Privileges booklet, 1992.

Printed coupon booklet for passengers on the premium Metroliner Service, (New York-Washington). Initiated by Penn Central in 1969, the Metroliner Service was taken up by Amtrak in 1971. It ran until 2006, to be replaced by the Acela Express. This booklet contains an admission slip for the Metropolitan Lounges (then in Washington and New York) and a complimentary beverage coupon.

Full-color paper tour brochure presenting the many features of the American West, from Denver to the Grand Canyon, from the San Jose Mystery House to Mount Ranier. Special provisions were available for travel on the San Francisco Zephyr and Sunset Limited. From May, 1977.
