Amtrak NEWS was a monthly newsletter published for Amtrak employees. Feature articles in this issue focus on the Amtrak national sales convention; inauguration of the Hoosier State (Chicago-Indianapolis); and the dedication of the BWI Airport station.

Montrealer menu, 1980s.

Multi-color printed paper, bilingual English/French menu issued for use on the Montrealer (Montreal-Washington). In addition to breakfast and dinner options, the menu features "Soup, etc./Potage plus" - a hot bowl of soup accompanied by a loaf of French bread, gouda cheese and a chilled apple. The daytime Vermonter (St. Albans, Vt.-Washington) replaced the Montrealer on April 1, 1995. From the Ann Owens Collection.

River Cities brochure, 1984.

Multicolor printed paper brochure issued in May 1984 to promote the new River Cities (Kansas City-St. Louis-New Orleans). The train extended existing Kansas City-St. Louis service east to Centralia, Ill., where through cars were combined/uncoupled from the City of New Orleans (Chicago-New Orleans). Creation of this direct route built on excitement over the Louisiana World Exposition held in New Orleans in summer 1984. From the Ann Owens Collection.
