"Discover Chic Chicago" poster, 1970s.

Multicolor printed paper poster made to promote travel to Chicago on the Black Hawk (Chicago-Rockford-Dubuque); poster likely dates to the mid-1970s.

Black Hawk brochure, 1974.

Multicolor printed paper brochure issued for the start of the Black Hawk (Chicago-Dubuque) on February 14, 1974. The train initially used the self-propelled Budd rail diesel cars pictured on the front of this brochure, but they were later replaced with diesel locomotives and new single-level Amfleet cars. Deteriorating track conditions and heavy freight traffic on the route resulted in poor on-time performance, and service was discontinued in September 1981. From the W. Mike Weber Collection.

Black Hawk discount fares flyer, 1976.

Two-color printed paper flyer issued in June 1976 to promote discount round-trip coach fares on the Black Hawk (Chicago-Dubuque, Iowa).
