Multicolor printed paper brochure made to promote a trial version of the Carolinian (Charlotte-New York), which ran from October 1984 until September 1985. Through the financial support of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the current version of the Carolinian launched with an inaugural run on May 11, 1990. Multi-color printed paper invitation with envelope and RSVP card issued for the inauguration of the Carolinian (New York-Charlotte). From the Ann Owens Collection. Through the financial support of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the current version of the Carolinian launched with an inaugural run on May 11, 1990. Although the train ran between Charlotte and New York, it was paired with the Palmetto (New York-Jacksonville, Fla.) between Rocky Mount, N.C.
and New York City. In 1991, the Carolinian began
traveling the entire New York-Charlotte route as
a separate train.
