Amtrak NEWS was a newsletter published for Amtrak employees. Feature articles in this issue focus on an agreement between Amtrak and the Auto-Train Corporation to run a daily joint train between Louisville, Ky., and Sanford, Fla.; the creation of upgraded quarters for on-board service personnel at Chicago Union Station; and Amtrak assuming responsibility for all train movements on the Northeast Corridor.

Floridian route guide, 1977.

Two-color printed paper route guide issued in January 1977 for the daily Floridian (Chicago-St. Petersburg/ Miami). Guide offers brief descriptions of cities and towns along the route, as well as a map and photographs. A popular feature of this train was its Dome coach. The Floridian was discontinued in October 1979. From the Ann Owens Collection.

"Wheel of a Deal" brochure, 1970s.

Multicolor printed paper brochure issued in the late 1970s; from the Ann Owens Collection. The "Wheel of a Deal" promotion included round-trip train fare aboard the Floridian from Chicago to various destinations within Florida, coupled with a car upon one's arrival. According to this version of the brochure, passengers could choose from an AMC Hornet or an AMC Pacer.
