"Amtrak's Cardinal Country" brochure, 1980s.

Multi-color printed paper brochure for the Cardinal, c. 1982-1986. From the Ann Owens Collection. The Cardinal (Washington-Chicago) gained its current name in 1977 in recognition of the state bird of the six states through which it runs. From 1982 until 1986, the Cardinal was routed through Muncie and Hammond-Whiting, Ind., both of which are highlighted on the brochure's map.
