This transparency, part of a set commissioned by Amtrak Marketing, depicts the eastbound California Zephyr in Byers Canyon (Grand County), an approximately 8-mile long gorge created by the Colorado River. The train is led by a P42DC locomotive wearing the Phase III color scheme as modified for the GE Genesis locomotives. Photographer: William Kratville (American, 1929-2011) for Amtrak.
