This film slide, part of a set commissioned by Amtrak Marketing, shows the Sunset Limited east of Tallahassee near Lake Lafayette. The surrounding area is well-known for numerous American Indian archeological sites including middens and mounds.

In 1995, this route ran between Los Angeles and Miami via New Orleans; service east of New Orleans was suspended following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
