Lake Shore Limited poster, 2000s.

Full color printed paper poster highlighting the route of the Lake Shore Limited (Chicago-New York/Boston); work was released in the 2000s.

Lake Shore Limited poster, 2000s.

This poster is one of a series created for Amtrak by the Michael Schwab Studio to advertise cross-country routes. The Lake Shore Limited follows some of the nation’s most beautiful shorelines, combining scenic beauty with interesting history.

Traversing the shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, the Erie Canal, the Mohawk River, the Finger Lakes and the Berkshires, it splits in Albany, N.Y., offering alternate routes to either Boston or New York. The variety of landscapes and waterways that make this approximately 1,000 mile route so beautiful and memorable punctuate the skylines of either city at journey’s end within blocks of the Atlantic Ocean.
