Multicolor printed paper brochure advertising the introduction of Turboliner equipment on the Detroit-Chicago route in April, 1975. Brochure includes schedules, sample fares and descriptions of towns along the route. "There's a bright new look in everything--from the beautiful new carpeting to the ultra-comfortable upholstered reclining seats, to the fold down dining trays with delicious hot meals available..." Amtrak NEWS was a monthly newsletter published for Amtrak employees. Feature articles in this issue focus on Alan Boyd's election as Amtrak President and CEO; the unveiling of a USDOT restructuring plan for the intercity passenger rail system; and the testing of a locomotive fuel tender.

Coast Starlight menu, 1976.

Multicolor printed paper menu issued in June 1976 for use on the Coast Starlight (Seattle-Los Angeles). Hand drawings shaded in red, white and blue depict landmarks and scenes along the route, such as the Seattle Space Needle, a northern California redwood tree and a surfer catching a wave. Passengers could choose from a variety of dishes to suit any appetite, including spaghetti with meatballs, chili con carne and a cottage cheese and fruit salad. From the Ann Owens Collection.

Amtrak SKI PASS, 1976.

Multicolor printed paper SKI PASS issued for the 1976-1977 winter season. Pass entitled the bearer for up to eight separate one-way coach trips to and from designated "ski stations" near major ski resorts. The bearer could pay additional funds to upgrade to a Metroliner Service train, Slumbercoach, Amclub or Sleeping car. From the Ann Owens Collection.

Multicolor printed paper brochure issued for winter 1978-1979 to promote vacation packages to famous eastern ski resorts in Vermont and Quebec—including Mont Ste. Marie, Glen Ellen and Sugarbush Valley—accessible from designated "ski stations." Packages included round-trip coach fare for the Montrealer or Adirondack, lodging and lift tickets; meals, ski lessons and rental equipment were extra. From the Ann Owens Collection.
