Cape Codder brochure, 1987.

Multi-color printed paper brochure issued in 1987 to promote the Cape Codder (New York-Hyannis), a summer weekend service carrying passengers to central Cape Cod. From the Ann Owens Collection. At Hyannis, passengers could catch the ferry to Nantucket. Partially financed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the service ran from 1986 until 1996.

Connecticut Valley Service timetable, 1980.

Multi-color printed paper timetable issued on October 28, 1980 for service on the Springfield Line (New Haven-Springfield). In addition to more than a dozen daily frequencies, the brochure touts the new Budd Self-Propelled Vehicle (SPV-2000) diesel cars purchased by the state of Connecticut for use on the route. The cars could be used as single units or combined for greater capacity. From the Ann Owens Collection.

Keystone Classic Club brochure, 1991.

Multi-color printed paper brochure promoting the Keystone Classic Club, a first-class, luxury service introduced in August 1991 on the Pennsylvanian (New York-Pittsburgh). From the Ann Owens Collection. According to an ad in the National Timetable released on October 27, 1991, "A unique and memorable experience awaits ten passengers on each trip...revel in the comfort of our parlor, dining area, library and smoking room." The Club used a refurbished, vintage 1954 rail car.

Ticket for BWI Rail Station dedication, 1980.

Printed paper ticket for use in attending the dedication of the BWI Rail Station, America's first "air-rail-ground transportation complex," on October 23, 1980. From the Ann Owens Collection. Ticket was good for "regular coach transportation" on the Northeast Corridor and was to be collected by the conductor on board the train.

Printed paper booklet created for the dedication of the BWI Rail Station on October 23, 1980; from the Ann Owens Collection. Considered the nation's "first intercity air-rail-ground transportation" facility, the station ushered in a new era of intermodal transportation centers by allowing for easy transfers between air, rail and public transportation services, while also offering ample parking. Attendees enjoyed music as well as tours of the station, airport and Baltimore's revitalized Inner Harbor.

Broadway Limited route guide, 1977.

Two-color printed paper route guide issued in January 1977 for the daily Broadway Limited (New York/Washington-Chicago). Guide offers brief descriptions of cities and towns along the route, as well as a map and photographs. From the Ann Owens Collection. The train took its name from that of a predecessor run by the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Amtrak Broadway Limited was discontinued in 1995.
