Two-color printed paper flyer issued in September 1977 to promote discount round-trip coach fares on the Adirondack (New York-Montreal).

"Traveling by train" booklet, 1970s.

Multicolor printed paper booklet with car diagrams and drawings of car interiors; dates to the early 1970s. This booklet describes the various accommodations and public spaces found on Amtrak long- and short-distance trains. Amtrak gained its rolling stock from the predecessor railroads when it took over most passenger rail service in 1971. From the Ann Owens Collection.

"Wheel of a Deal" brochure, 1970s.

Multicolor printed paper brochure issued in the late 1970s; from the Ann Owens Collection. The "Wheel of a Deal" promotion included round-trip train fare aboard the Floridian from Chicago to various destinations within Florida, coupled with a car upon one's arrival. According to this version of the brochure, passengers could choose from an AMC Hornet or an AMC Pacer.

Amtrak NEWS was a bi-monthly newsletter published for Amtrak employees. Feature articles in this issue focus on the inauguration of the Pioneer (Salt Lake City-Boise-Seattle) and Hilltopper (Washington-Roanoake-Catlettsburg), as well as the start of a new electrician apprenticeship program at the Beech Grove Shops.
