Inter-American brochure, 1974.

Two-color printed paper brochure issued in March, 1974, for the tri-weekly Inter-American (St. Louis-Laredo). Brochure includes schedule, sample fares and information about the bus transfer to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, for the connection to National Railways of Mexico's Aztec Eagle (Nuevo Laredo-Mexico City). The Inter-American ran from 1973-1981; subsequently, part of its route was served by the new Eagle (Chicago-San Antonio-(Los Angeles)). From the W. Mike Weber Collection.

Amtrak NEWS was a monthly newsletter published for Amtrak employees. Feature articles in this issue focus on the "Station of the Year" contest; the first national sales meeting; and the dedication of the Twin Cities station.

Multicolor printed paper brochure released in February, 1973, to promote travel on trains in the East. Color photographs and text describe accommodations and services aboard the Broadway Limited, Florida trains, Northeast Corridor trains, Montrealer and Night Owl. San Joaquin brochure, 1974.

Multicolor printed paper brochure advertising the new, daily San Joaquin (San Francisco/ Oakland-Bakersfield-(Los Angeles)). Brochure includes schedule, sample fares and station information. Since 1971, regional leaders had urged Amtrak to implement passenger service in the San Joaquin Valley, and on March 6, 1974, Amtrak launched one daily round trip.
