Multicolor printed paper wine list created for use in a Dining or Lounge car. The selection includes red, white and sparkling wines, such as Concannon Petite Sirah, Almaden Blanc Fume and Paul Masson Very Cold Duck, respectively. Half bottles cost $2. Anonymous donation to the Amtrak Archives.

Accommodations flip book, 1980s.

Printed paper flip book for use by ticket and travel agents to show accommodations on various cars in the Amtrak fleet: Heritage, Metroliner, Amfleet and Superliner. Includes a system map and numerous black and white photographs.

Amtrak SKI PASS, 1976.

Multicolor printed paper SKI PASS issued for the 1976-1977 winter season. Pass entitled the bearer for up to eight separate one-way coach trips to and from designated "ski stations" near major ski resorts. The bearer could pay additional funds to upgrade to a Metroliner Service train, Slumbercoach, Amclub or Sleeping car. From the Ann Owens Collection.

Amtrak NEWS was a bi-monthly newsletter published for Amtrak employees. Feature articles in this issue focus on the discontinuation of the Mountaineer (Norfolk-Cincinnati-Chicago), creation of the Hilltopper (Washington-Roanoake-Tri-State Station) and conclusion of a special transcontinental steam excursion train that ran from Birmingham, Ala. to Portland, Ore.

"New Amfleet II Railcars" brochure, 1980s.

Multicolor printed paper brochure highlighting the Amfleet II long-distance cars, which were ordered by Amtrak in early 1980. Built by the Budd Company at its Red Lion Plant in Philadelphia, the 125 coaches and 25 food service cars were similar in exterior appearance to their Amfleet I predecessors, but were modified on the interior for use on long-distance overnight routes. Printed paper brochure describing amenities on the new single-level Amfleet equipment; likely dates to 1975-1976. Amtrak ordered 492 single-level cars, known as Amfleet I, that were based on the design of the popular Metroliner cars. With tubular bodies and ridged stainless steel fluting, they could reach speeds of up to 125 mph. The Amfleet cars came in five configurations. Courtesy of Brian Roman.
