Artwork for the West.

Original promotional artwork depicting scenes from the West. Ink pen and watercolor on paper. Dates to the late 1970s.

Artwork for the West.
This original artwork, created for Amtrak Marketing by the advertising firm of Great Incorporated, was probably commissioned for use in a tour brochure. It depicts typical scenes from the West including an American Indian totem pole; snow-capped mountains; and dense pine forests. The two distinctive towers most likely represent Marina City in Chicago. Taking into account the towers and the totem pole, this artwork may have been intended to advertise the Empire Builder running between Chicago and Seattle/Portland. The locomotive appears to be an SD40F wearing the Phase I livery. Artist: Unknown From the Ann Owens Collection
