This poster is one of a series created for Amtrak by the Michael Schwab Studio to advertise cross-country routes. The City of New Orleans follows a 926-mile route that links three of the most important music capitals in America: Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans. Therefore, it is fitting that this poster features the silhouette of a jazz trumpeter.
The City of New Orleans passes through unique and historic regions including Illinois central farmlands, the western corner of Kentucky, the forests of Tennessee and Mississippi and the famous bayous of Louisiana.
Graphic Artist: Michael Schwab (American) for Amtrak. From the Amtrak Corporate Collection.
